7 Days to go. What Can we expect?

So only a week to go before the rollercoaster of a season we will no doubt endure again at VP begins. Watching the lower leagues in action today makes you realise how money orientated the PL is. Looking through the leagues any fan from any club feels they could mount a promotion challenge.

That just doesnt happen with the PL unfortunately. Every club knows their rough finish before the season even starts. The question is. Where is that position for Villa?

Looking at the squad we have, currently. I would be happy with a top 8 finish and a good cup run. I know that is a common belief among many fans i have spoke to too.

Looking at the fixture list there is no reason why we cant set the wheels in motion for a higher finish than the 8th i mentioned earlier. We play no real top 4 threat until 16th October when we play Man City away. That in theory gives AM 7 games to get the points on the board, And to be honest with Spurs to play in November away the rest of the fixtures till that extremely hard December, are all games against teams that we should get points from.

However with the squad we have, if we picked up a few injuries we could be in serious peril. Take for example the result midweek against Derby with our reserve team. We just dont look good enough for a top half PL team with our reserves. We seriously need to invest in some players for the bench that can come in and do a job when a substitution is required to change the game and introduce a plan B

Hopefully tonight against Braga the first team will get a run out of at least an hour to gel together.

So with 7 days to go.

Time to get behind the team and keep our fingers crossed there are a couple of deals being looked at to strengthen the sqaud.
