Preview of Fulham away

So, With a week of not knowing whether the football was on or off due to the irresponsible looters around the country. Today it was announced that we are officially now allowed to look forward to the weekends opening round of fixtures in the Premier League, The only game that didnt make it through the security checks was Tottenham Hotspur against Everton, which is a shame. But it is great to see the other 9 games taking place in the capital this weekend still going ahead. Including our away game at Fulham.

To a lot of fans I know this one of the games you look out for when the fixture list is announced as it has a soft spot in our hearts. Fulham is always a good away day. It feels like your taking a step back in time before all these new characterless stadiums were being built up and down the country. Its nice people think the same about our ground at Villa Park too. But with Craven Cottage there is just something nice about getting there early, going to the pub and then walking along the river to the ground

The question is. Are we ready? Or would it of been beneficial to the club if it had of been postponed. All i can do is speak for myself.
I would of hated the game to of been postponed. After a long summer of tedious links and negative comments  about the club from the media it is nice to just finally get the boys crossing the white line onto the pitch and let there football do the talking.

As a Villa fan thinking positively the perfect result on Saturday would be a comfortable demoliton of the cottagers but realistically i can not see that happening. What with there new manager Martin Jol in charge and there early season start with the Europa League. They will be certainly up for this game and teams who have been in the Europa qualifying stages tend to come out early on in the season in full steam and fade around Christmas time. So this match will not be easy but if the boys just get their heads down and play the way we know they can then there is no reason we cant earn 3 points from this game.

There has been a lot of talk that Darren Bent might struggle this year without Ashley Young supplying him. But our new number 10 Charles N'Zogbia will give DB some positive support. And we should not forget that in the last 18 months Ashley Young was not playing that well. So lets give the boys a chance before the traditional getting on there back starts when the results are not going our way. Last season we had a disastrous season and finished 9th. Which just proves that the season is not over till its over. 38 games is a long season. Lets support them till the end.

My Prediction :
Fulham 1 - 2 Aston Villa
