Preview of first home game of the season against Blackburn Rovers

So for our first home game of the season we have been drawn against the unknown enemy of Blackburn Rovers.

After playing them 4 times last season and 5 times the season before, along with the win in preseason in the Asia cup how many more times will we draw them this season? After avoiding them in the second round of the carling cup there was a sigh of relief heard in the empty stands of Villa Park, But now once again we have to play them. This to be honest shouldn't worry us after looking at the previous 10 games having won 7 and losing 3 with a goal difference of 22 to 13.

More importantly than the opponent, the main thing about the game this weekend is the fact that its AMs first game in charge at home, Many questions are being asked after the away point last week against Fulham.

Looking back it was a great point away at Fulham, we looked strong and resolute but things will have to change this weekend as the Villa Park faithful will not take the defensive attitude we took at Craven Cottage to acquire our first away clean sheet in over a year

The Villa fans will want to see more attacking play with a better link up between the three lines. If it were my choice I would drop Petrov and Heskey and bring in Makoun and Albrighton.

With all the offers for the opening game it seems it might be a disappointing turnout with only about 36,000 tickets sold for the opening home game of the season. This shows that people are not 100 percent sure of the manager, But we should give him a chance. In a poll i saw earlier 3% of the people asked said they would boo. Yes they are the minority as the majority said they would applaud of politely clap. But still if that is accurate telling of the supporters thats over a 1000 of the contingency at Villa Park who are going to tell AM and the media exactly what they think. This is a time to come together and support the team you dont have to support the manager but you should support the team as if you do not, I have one Question. Why do you wear the Claret and Blue?

Back to the game i think it will be a tight game like it was in Hong Kong but am going to go for Aston Villa to win it

My prediction this week:

Aston Villa 2 - 0 Blackburn Rovers

Whats your prediction, comment and let me know
